Colonial Revival through the Arts and Crafts Movement

Location: Helena, AR | Project Date: 1996 to Present - The first structure rehabilitated by the DCC, a museum of the Department of Arkansas Heritage, was the former Helena Depot in 1990 by WER Architects. In 1996 JAMESON began a long relationship with an on-call contract. In 1997 two deteriorated storefront buildings were obtained in the adjacent block to expand galleries and administrative offices. The complete rehabilitation included replacement of original wood framed 1st floor with concrete, exterior repairs, addition of fire stair and elevator, new MEP and fire suppression systems, and creation of galleries and offices. Since that time, work has continued on the Depot including installation of an elevator, updates to the galleries, replacement of 1990 HVAC systems and repairs to the clay tile roof.
